HBO Potter series

 

J.K Rowling Bloomberg reports that Warner Bros. Discovery is nearing a deal to produce a new "Harry Potter" TV series for HBO Max.  Each season of the show will be based on one of the seven novels in author J.K. Rowling's iconic YA series. The new "Potter" series will apparently be at the center of an overall streaming strategy that will formally roll out next week. Next week's launch event will also provide more information about the new joint HBO Max/Discovery+ streaming service, known simply as "Max." Warner Bros. previously adapted the "Potter" books into a popular series of 8 films, which has since inspired a stage play, theme park attractions, and a spinoff movie series. Author Rowling -- a controversial figure due to her online comments about the trans community -- will apparently be a part of the TV series, but her specific role remains unclear.
