Ikea invests $2.2B in U.S. business

Ikea announced plans to invest over $2.2B to support its U.S. growth.

The funds will be spent over the next three years to develop the firm's omnichannel capabilities.

  • Ikea's investment will be used to strengthen its fulfillment network and open new stores.
  • The firm announced in 2022 that it would turn its stores into e-commerce delivery hubs.
  • The store upgrades came as part of a €3B ($3.2) investment in its global operations.
  • The $2.2B investment announced on Wednesday is the largest to ever target Ikea's U.S. business.
  • The investment will establish 900 pickup locations, launch eight stores, and create over 2,000 jobs.
