J.C. Penney’s chief digital officer, Katie Mullen, is set to become the firm's chief customer officer.
The
new role will allow Mullen to link the company's "digital technology"
and "customer insights" with its "personalization capabilities," said
CEO Marc Rosen.
- J.C. Penney filed for bankruptcy in 2020 and continues to face financial difficulties.
- It exited bankruptcy the same year after being acquired by Simon Property Group and Brookfield Asset Management.
- Mullen supported J.C. Penney's turnaround strategy by focusing on the "digital enablement of the organization."
- In her new role, Mullen will lead "efforts to deliver an end-to-end integrated shopping experience."
- She will also continue to oversee "e-commerce strategy and omnichannel development" for the company.
