LinkedIn is introducing three new options for users to verify their identities.
While LinkedIn has offered phone number and email verification, the new
options confirm a user's identify under a special “verifications”
section that shows up under their profile details.
- In one option, the company partnered with the secure identity platform CLEAR to offer added verification for U.S. users.
- People
can now use CLEAR to verify their identities using a government-issued
ID and U.S. phone number and display this verification on their LinkedIn
profiles.
- For global users, LinkedIn is offering another option to verify their place of employment through their workplace email.
- Currently, this option works with 4,000+ companies, with more to be added over time.
- Additionally,
some users will be able to verify their identities and employers
through Microsoft’s Entra free verified ID platform
