Salesforce launches Commerce Cloud for healthcare

Salesforce launched the HIPAA-compliant version of its Commerce Cloud solution, catered specifically for healthcare and life sciences organizations.

The solution leverages Salesforce's Data Cloud and AI technology to facilitate digital commerce, automate B2B sales, and streamline order management.

  • Customers can leverage the Commerce Cloud platform to build a digital store that offers direct-to-patient and B2B ordering, bypassing distributors in the process.
  • The solutions are geared toward medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical firms, and pharmacies.
  • Salesforce believes the solutions can automate sales processes and decrease customer order fulfillment time.
  • Commerce Cloud's Senior Vice President Michael Affronti said, "With Commerce Cloud benefitting from platform capabilities like Data Cloud and AI, healthcare organizations can embed personalized commerce opportunities into every touch point and leverage automation to reduce operational costs."

  • 92% of respondents in a PYMNTS survey were "somewhat likely to be interested in using a unified digital platform to manage their healthcare needs."
