Elon Musk-led social media giant Twitter has partnered with social trading platform eToro to offer its users crypto and stock trading services.
The new feature rolled out on the app on April 13.
- The
integration will see Twitter users viewing market charts broadly and
purchasing and selling stocks, cryptocurrencies, or other financial
assets from eToro.
- The
platform has already allowed users to view trading data from
TradingView through a feature dubbed Cashtags since December last year.
- Since the beginning of 2023, Twitter has seen more than 420 million searches for Cashtags, with a daily average of 4.7 million.
- eToro integration will expand this feature by adding more online tools and asset classes.
- Users
will also be able to proceed to eToro's website to buy and sell
financial assets on the platform by simply clicking the "view on eToro"
option.
- eToro similarly uses TradingView for the market data.
- Elon Musk officially bought Twitter in October last year with a $44B sales deal.
- At
the time of the sale, Musk revealed his intention to turn Twitter into a
super-app where users can access financial services alongside a social
network.
- eToro has more than 32 million users across Europe, Asia, and the U.S.
