Season 2 of Netflix's scripted true-crime series "Monster" will center on the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez
. Season 1 of "Monster" profiled serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, and remains one of the platform's most popular original series to date.
- The
"Monster" anthology comes from co-creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan,
whose prior collaborations include "Glee," "Scream Queens," and "The
Politician."
- The Menendez brothers were convicted in 1989 of
murdering their parents, José and Kitty, in their Beverly Hills home;
they claimed to have acted in self-defense after having been abused by
their parents all their lives.
- A Peacock documentary -- "Menendez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed"
-- features former boy band member Roy Rosselló making separate abuse
allegations against José Menendez; it debuts later this week.
