Top skills needed for an AI workplace

The big picture: Companies are already rolling out AI-powered tools for businesses, and employees will need to equip themselves with new skills required to work alongside AI. Colette Stallbaumer, GM for Microsoft 365 and "future of work," was optimistic about AI's positive impact on work, comparing it to the rise of PCs and the internet when new jobs were created during the technology's diffusion phase. "We really believe that AI will create more jobs than it replaces," she told CNBC.

What it means: The CEOs of Google and Microsoft believe that AI will revolutionize the working world and impact every industry, but also create new jobs. "I do think there are big societal labor market disruptions that will happen," Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently told The Verge.;Despite the AI advancements, Pichai believes that certain skills and careers will be needed, such as lawyers. "I think it'll touch everything we do," he added.
