"Arthur" series creator Marc Brown is developing a new animated Max show for preschoolers. "Hop" marks Brown's first new series since "Arthur" wrapped up its 25-season run on PBS in 2022. Brown co-created "Hop" along with "Arthur" vets Peter K. Hirsch and Tolon Brown. - The new series centers on a group of best friends -- led by the titular enthusiastic and empathetic frog -- who encounter relatable problems and encourage viewers to embrace their own uniqueness.
- Hop will be voiced by theatrical veteran David Connolly, the only amputee to have performed on a Broadway stage.
- HBO Max launched with a number of kid-friendly shows, but pulled most of these prior to its rebranding as Max; this marks the new service's first move back into developing content for children.
