AWS-hosted websites go dark

Amazon Web Services (AWS) faced a widespread outage on Tuesday.

The issue disrupted several companies that rely on Amazon's hosting services, including DoorDash and Hulu.

Amazon said the outage, which lasted for about two hours, has been resolved.

  • The problem reportedly lay with AWS' Lambda service.
  • Lambda enables customers to run computer programs without managing underlying servers.
  • AWS experienced a similar outage in December 2021 amid a surge in holiday season purchases.
