DreamWorks & Kaufman's "Orion"

 

DreamWorks Animation will team with Netflix on the film "Orion and the Dark," from "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" writer Charlie Kaufman.  The film, based on a book by Emma Yarlett, will hit Netflix in 2024. The story centers around an anxious young man who goes on a late-night adventure with a personified version of his worst fear, The Dark. Jacob Tremblay and Paul Walter Hauser provide the main voices of Orion the boy and The Dark, respectively. Animator Sean Charmatz -- a veteran of the "Trolls" and "Angry Birds" franchises -- will make his directorial debut with the film. This will be Kaufman's first film credit since 2020's "I'm Thinking of Ending Things," also produced for Netflix.
