Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has launched the first-ever HKIA Metaverse in Greater China, offering an immersive virtual world to engage international visitors and local travelers.

The HKIA Metaverse, which runs from July 6 to August 31, 2023, utilizes Web3 technology and includes various games at corresponding booths.

The HKIA Metaverse comprises three airport scenes: the Departure Hall, the Sky Bridge, and the boarding gate area.

  • Visitors can participate in a treasure-hunting game, with hidden treasures available daily.
    • Winners receive a limited-edition HKIA Metaverse NFT for the 25th-anniversary celebration of HKIA.
  • Alby Tsang, Head of Retail & Advertising of Airport Authority Hong Kong, stated that this initiative allows visitors to immerse themselves in a virtual world and engage with brands like never before.
  • The Metaverse is part of a campaign that aims to gamify the airport environment, offering multiple levels of engagement and interactive experiences for visitors.

Changi Airport Group  has recently unveiled a metaverse experience called ChangiVerse, a fresh way for new audiences to connect with Singapore Changi Airport and explore its sights in the digital space.
