Pharmaceutical company Lilly USA has agreed to pay $2.4M to settle claims by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) that it intentionally did not hire older applicants for sales positions due to age bias. As part of the settlement, the money will be allocated to an interest-bearing fund for those who were denied jobs due to their age, and Lilly is required to provide regular EEO training to its HR and managerial staff involved in recruitment for these roles. |
