SkyDrive, a Japanese eVTOL developer, received a pre-order of up to 100 aircraft from conglomerate CT Group's UAV subsidiary in Vietnam.

This constitutes SkyDrive's second Vietnam order for the three-seater eVTOL, as the manufacturer signed a memorandum of understanding to provide up to 100 aircraft to Pacific Group Co.

CT and SkyDrive plan to analyze routes, vertiports, and network planning considerations.

  • "We recognize the importance of leveraging its accumulated expertise and technological capabilities in infrastructure development, as well as the development of cutting-edge technologies such as drones and AI," said Tran Kim Chung, CT Group president.
  • Last week, SkyDrive received a pre-order from Austin Aviation for up to five eVTOLs, as the Lowcountry Aviation subsidiary plans commercial operations out of its home base of Beaufort, South Carolina.
  • SkyDrive is seeking regulatory approval for its eVTOLs from the JCAB in Japan and the FAA in the U.S.
