Unity, known for its video game engine, has launched a marketplace for developers to access AI software to generate game graphics, dialogue, and more. The marketplace, located within Unity's Asset Store, offers AI tools from independent companies in the areas of generative AI, AI/ML integration, and behavior AI. The new AI marketplace includes Convai for AI-based characters, Leonardo AI for rapid game asset creation, and Zibra AI for VFX and physics creation. - Unity's customers can choose among various AI-powered software offerings from independent companies like Inworld AI or Polyhive.
- The companies can distribute their software through the store and charge for their offerings.
In addition, Unity introduced two new AI tools for 3D content developers: - Unity Muse includes a chatbot that provides advice and teaching for its engine users. The eventual goal is for developers to create "almost anything" in the Unity Editor using text prompts and sketches.
- Unity Sentis allows developers to integrate neural networks into game builds for real-time AI-driven content generation.
- The tools, now in closed beta, are due to launch globally later this year.
