This will enable businesses in Nigeria to leverage AWS computing, storage, databases, and other services to deploy latency-sensitive workloads.

  • AWS has already established a presence in Nigeria, with several local offices, Amazon CloudFront edge locations, and AWS outposts.
  • Hakeem Popoola Fahm, the commissioner of Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology, referred to the local zone as “a significant milestone for our regional enterprises and digital transformation agenda.”
  • The cloud giant now boasts 32 AWS local zones worldwide and has recently launched local zones in Lima, Peru, and Querétaro, Mexico.
