"Arrested Development" exits Netflix

All five seasons of the classic comedy series "Arrested Development" will leave Netflix on March 15.

That includes the fourth and fifth seasons, which the streamer co-produced along with 20th Television and Imagine Entertainment.

  • Fox aired "Arrested Development" for three years, before canceling the show in 2006.
  • In 2012, Netflix -- still relatively new to producing original series -- revived the show for a fourth season; Season 5 debuted in installments in 2018 and 2019.
  • The first three seasons of "Arrested" also currently stream on Hulu.
  • This will mark one of the first times Netflix has opted not to renew licenses for its own original content; the streamer planned to drop the crime drama series "Lilyhammer" last year before reversing course at the last moment.
