Microsoft Azure has just announced new offerings for telecommunications companies relying on its Azure cloud services.
These new services are aimed at network transformation, automation, AI, and network-aware applications.
- The first new service is Azure Operator Nexus, a hybrid cloud platform allowing communication service providers to run their workloads on-premises and in Azure.
- Microsoft also launched Azure Communications Gateway, a fully-managed, cloud-based voice gateway that makes it easier to connect operator fixed and mobile voice networks to Teams Phone, the only native telephone solution for Microsoft Teams.
- The software giant also debuted two AI Ops services — Azure Operator Insights and Azure Operator Service Manager.
- Operator Insights leverages ML to enable operators to analyze large data volumes to identify any potential network issues, while Operator Service Manager helps generate insights into the state of a network.
- So far, U.S. multinational telecommunications giant AT&T has adopted the Azure Operator Nexus platform to enhance its 5G service and incorporate AI technology to simplify its operations.
