San Antonio-based cloud company Rackspace Technology has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia to aid in the Kingdom’s digital transformation by reforming its technological infrastructure.
The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
- Rackspace announced on Feb. 7 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), a government agency that aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in the “elite league” of data-driven economies.
- The agreement states that Rackspace will collaborate with SDAIA on strategic technology initiatives, which aligns with Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s economic and social reform blueprint that is opening Saudi Arabia up to the world.
- Saudi Arabia is turning to technology to diversify its economy, which is heavily reliant on oil. So far, the country has attracted more than $9B in cloud investments.
