The U.S. Department of Labor cited Amazon for putting warehouse workers at risk.   The regulator claims Amazon's gamification practices promote fast-paced, dangerous work. The citations are for three warehouses found in New York, Colorado, and Idaho. The Labor Department claims workers in these locations repeatedly handle heavy items and work at a fast pace that poses a risk of serious injuries. According to Labor, Amazon has incentives to promote excessively paced work that should be eliminated. The incentives are managed through video-game-like platforms, where workers who perform best get Amazon apparel and gear. Participation in the programs is voluntary.
