Filmmakers Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, often billed as "Daniels," collaborated on the upcoming Disney+ "Star Wars" series "Skeleton Crew."
The duo recently wrote and directed "Everything Everywhere All At
Once," which took home seven Oscars this month, including Best Picture
and Best Director.
- The secretive "Star Wars" project was produced starting last summer, and wrapped within the last few months.
- Kwan responded on
Instagram to concerned fans who feared the duo would be "sucked up by
the corporate machine," noting that the duo only guest-directed a single
episode of the series.
- The series is produced by "Spider-Man:
No Way Home" director Jon Watts, and centers on a group of kids who get
lost in the galaxy and must find their way home.
- Jude Law has been cast in a central role in the series.
- Daniels have also inked a five-year deal with Universal to produce additional films.
