Long-time Twitch CEO Emmett Shear announced today that he is stepping down.   In 2007, Shear co-founded the livestreaming platform known as Justin.tv, which was the predecessor to the video game livestreaming site Twitch. Twitch President Dan Clancy will take over as CEO, effective immediately. Shear, who remains an adviser to the company, said he is "now a father and ready to move to my next phase of life." In 2011, Justin.tv's gaming content was spun off as TwitchTV, which was released in public beta that year. In 2014, Amazon acquired Twitch for $970M.
