Microsoft has signed a 10-year deal with Germany-based cloud gaming service provider Boosteroid.
This agreement enables Microsoft to bring its Xbox PC games to Boosteroid’s cloud gaming platform.
Boosteroid was founded in Ukraine and now has its headquarters in Germany. Its platform has four million users globally, with servers in nine European countries and six U.S. states.
- The company’s cloud gaming service offers a monthly or yearly subscription option that gives players access to the company’s servers. The service costs $10.60 per month or $96.48 per year.
- Microsoft’s gaming catalog includes the Call of Duty games, Age of Empires, Gears of War, Halo, and many more.
Microsoft has signed similar deals with other gaming platforms to appeal to regulators in the U.S., EU, and the U.K., who argue that the company’s proposed $68.7B deal with Activision would disrupt the cloud gaming competition.
- EU regulators are set to announce their decision regarding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision by April 11, 2023.
