Amazon Web Services (AWS) will partner with 3M to develop an automated healthcare documentation service.
Amazon continues expanding its healthcare presence following its $3.9B acquisition of primary care provider One Medical.
- AWS and 3M Health Information Systems (HIS) will jointly enhance the M*Modal Ambient Intelligence service.
- The service leverages "conversational artificial intelligence (AI) and ambient intelligence" to automate clinical documentation.
- AWS
will contribute to advancing the automated documentation solution
by using Amazon Bedrock, which allows users to build and scale
generative AI.
- The
cloud provider will also leverage Amazon Transcribe Medical, its
automatic speech recognition service, and Amazon Comprehend Medical, its
natural language processing tool.
- The
project is intended to make clinical documentation "a byproduct of the
patient visit and not a separate, burdensome task for the physician,"
said AWS.
