Lipton launches hard tea

Lipton launched its first-ever hard tea, an alcoholic beverage that hit stores on National Tea Day 2023.

Lipton, an iconic tea brand founded by Sir Thomas Lipton in the 1800s, has been making money from its teas, including black tea, green tea, and herbal and fruit blends.

  • The brand has launched its first hard tea in response to the increasing consumer demand for hard teas.
    • Hard teas have become popular among people who prefer canned cocktails for their fruit flavor and low alcohol content.
  • The hard tea market is currently at an estimated $19B& and counting, with canned alcoholic beverages, especially tea-flavored ones, taking over the market.
  • Lipton's hard tea is 5% ABV and is available in lemon, peach, strawberry, and half half flavors.
  • The beverage was designed with Lipton's traditional tea flavor in mind.
  • Canned cocktails are generally more affordable than standard cocktails.
