California-based technology company Cisco and Japanese communications company NTT aim to migrate their joint customer base to the Cisco Webex Cloud.
The
goal is to transition up to 2 million users off their Cisco Hosted
Collaboration Solution or premises-based voice environments to Cisco’s
cloud solution.
- This
shift from legacy and on-premises-based voice environments is expected
to incorporate telephony into customers' collaboration environments
while cutting costs that generally come with traditional PBX voice
services.
- Cisco Webex Cloud
is a secure cloud team collaboration platform that offers video
conferencing, calling, and messaging while providing end-to-end
encryption for messages, documents, and whiteboard content.
- Research
from NTT reveals that using cloud telephony can result in an average of
40% to 60% savings for customers. These savings stem from cloud phone
systems requiring less installation and maintenance costs, their ability
to be bundled with other cloud services, and a reduction in the total
cost of ownership.
- Cisco
and NTT have partnered for over 30 years. The two companies have
developed solutions for edge-to-cloud services, systems infrastructure,
and digital infrastructure used by organizations worldwide.
- Both
companies plan to complete their full customer migration from legacy
platforms to a cloud-based calling model over the next 36 months.
