Though Tucker Carlson's Fox News cable show was canceled, he'll remain a presence on the Fox Nation streaming service moving forward.
According to Variety, Fox News Media doesn't plan to remove any content featuring Carlson from the subscription-based service.
- Carlson was fired from Fox News
last week, apparently following a joint decision by chairman Rupert
Murdoch, Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch, and Fox News Media CEO Suzanne
Scott.
- Though specific reasons for Carlson's dismissal remain
unknown, numerous theories abound, including fallout from the company's
defamation settlement with Dominion Voting Systems and gossip about the host's relationship with Murdoch's ex-fiancé, Ann Lesley Smith.
- In a behind-the-scenes clip leaked on Monday by Media Matters, Carlson can be heard criticizing Fox Nation, telling a producer "nobody watches [the service] because the site sucks."
- Recent
Fox Nation programs from Carlson include the documentary special "Let
Them Eat Bugs!," about liberal efforts to convince Americans to include
insects in their diet; the host's final Fox News broadcast; and a
holiday special.
