Ursa Major has raised a $100M Series D funding round to build rocket engines.
The company has contracts with the U.S. Air Force.
Ursa is currently building two main products:
- a 5,000-pound liquid oxygen and kerosene engine called Hadley,
- and a 50,000-pound thrust engine named Ripley.
- This funding round was led by Blackrock and Space Capital.
- In addition to the U.S. Air Force, the company has partnerships with Astra, Phantom Space, and Stratolaunch.
- Ursa has raised $234M in total funding since its inception in 2015.
- The company is based in Colorado and employs around 275 employees.
