Coleman Insights, a media research firm, has launched Pod Predictor, a service that allows podcasters to test out the concepts for shows before they launch.

 The service surveys 1,000 podcast listeners to give honest feedback about show titles and elevator pitches.

The listeners range from ages 18 to 64 and are in both the United States and Canada.

  • Each listener will be asked to determine how appealing a podcast concept is, rate it 1 to 5, and indicate their interest in downloading the content based on the title and description.
  • Pod Predictor is now available for individual publishers and networks and will allow them to test out one or multiple concepts at a time.
  • "So much money and time is invested in the launch of new podcasts without any intel as to how that content will be received. Now, with Pod Predictor, podcasters can determine how appealing their concept is at an affordable price point, allowing them to refine their marketing message before launching it to the public," said Coleman Insights Vice President/Consultant Jay Nachlis.
