A new study has found that three cups of coffee per day can help lower blood pressure. The study was published in the Nutrients journal.
- Researchers at the Sant’Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital in Bologna, Italy, conducted the study.
- According
to these scientists, coffee drinkers had lower peripheral and central
aortic blood pressure than those who do not drink coffee.
- While
previous studies have concluded that caffeine contributes to increased
blood pressure, coffee's antioxidants are now believed to be a crucial
part of lowering it.
- The findings from this study could have a
significant effect, as the average U.S. citizen drinks coffee more than
any other beverage, including tap water.
