Microsoft has started internally testing a built-in crypto wallet in its web browser Edge, according to The Verge.
Screenshots shared on Twitter show wallet passwords and recovery keys embedded in Edge.
- A
description says the wallet will have “simplified experiences that make
Web3 easier to interact with," as well as security features to protect
users from unsecured apps and addresses.
- Users of the wallet will be able to buy cryptocurrency from crypto exchange Coinbase and crypto payment solution MoonPay.
- It will support the storage of NFTs and the ability to link to decentralized apps.
- The
wallet creates an Ethereum address for users to receive funds through
that network and also allows users to manage multiple Ethereum accounts
- The
wallet is "non-custodial," so crypto holders will be responsible for
their passwords and private keys, which Microsoft will not be able to
access.
