PODS ON THE BLOCK

  • "Attacking Jussie: The Osundairo Brothers Story" is a companion podcast for the six-part docuseries "Jussie Smollett: The Anatomy of a Hoax." In 2019, actor and singer Jussie Smollett reported that he'd been "the victim of a hate crime." The docuseries will share the perspective of the two convicted attackers, Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundario, who claimed that the attack was in fact premeditated by Jussie for PR purposes. The podcast is hosted by Charlie Webster.
  • "Living for We" is a new podcast documenting the experiences of Cleveland's Black women. In 2020, a study ranked the city last in "livability for Black women." The first episode features more on this data and what might be done about it.
  • "Fighting for Ukraine" recently marked its first anniversary. With over 130 episodes, Yuriy Matsarsky continues to provide daily updates from "the frontlines of the Ukrainian resistance."
  • Special mention: "Today, Explained" released an under-30-minute episode explaining the Silicon Vally Bank collapse in the U.S. and what it means for the economy on a macro scale.
  • Wild for the Oscars? "Little Gold Men" released an episode that takes listeners behind the curtains on what happened after the awards.
  • NPR's hip-hop podcast "Louder Than a Riot" returns for a new season on March 16. The new season focuses on those that hip-hop has typically marginalized. Here's the trailer
